No matter how many times you told yourself you didn't have the budget for more crystals you just HAD to bring it home only to have no idea where to put it and leave it on top of a cupboard collecting dust?
Well, if you have crystals that deserve to have a light shone on them but are stuck in a rut of overthinking when it comes to styling them then this post is for you!
Be Intentional
Think about what mood you are trying to create while you decide what crystals to put in a room. If you are someone who believes in the metaphysical properties of crystals then you will want to consider what energy flow you are promoting in your space.
Sensual Red Jasper or restful Amazonite and Amethyst in the bedroom?
Playful Dalmatian Jasper or calming Selenite in the living room?
Whatever energy you are searching for should be considered before the styling begins.
Colour Theory
Thinking about colour theory is a good way to create balance in a display. You can also chose to match crystals to your aesthetic or chose crystals that are polar opposites to your style when you need to spice up or calm down a display.
For example; if you have an eclectic style you could grab some Crazy Lace Agate or Picture Jasper for a pop of colour or pattern, on the other hand a soothing, clean and calm Selenite Tower might help to ground a colourful display that seems to be pulling you in every direction.
A minimalist and clean aesthetic may benefit from using crystals that are also practical as a source of colour to spice up their space. Why not try to find crystals that align with your goals within your space in the form of bookends or candle holders so that they feel purposeful.
Rule of Three
When you begin to doubt yourself or feel unsure while styling in your space, take a step back and consider the rule of three!
Using a large crystal tower or salt lamp as an example, chose your crystal and the location.
Next, lay out a nice base; tray, book, mirror etc.
Grab two items smaller than the crystal; candle, plant.
Finally, arrange them however you like and VOILA!
Remember that few cohesive and well thought out items is better then many items that don't quite mesh. When in doubt, less is more, and with the rule of three you can't go wrong.
